Helen Staschak Werner, age 88, of Milford formerly of Stratford, widow of Vincent S. Werner passed away on September 26, 2012 at Golden Hill Health Care, Milford. Born in Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Kowtko Staschak. She was a retired employee of Remington Rand Shaver and was a former security guard at the Fairfield County Court House. Helen loved to crochet and make afghans for her family and friends and will be sadly missed by all. Survivors include her beloved children; two sons William Werner and his wife Maria of Monroe and Thomas Werner of Stratford, a daughter, Helen Marie Nowlin of Seymour, a brother, Eugene Staschak and his wife Mary of Carbondale, PA, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Eugene Michael Werner, an infant son and four sisters and five brothers. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday September 30, 2012 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Dennis & D’Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford. Funeral services will be held on Monday October 1, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Skip Karcinsky, officiating followed by burial in Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown.
