Robert Tearne

U.S. Veteran

Robert Tearne, age 72 of Milford passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the widower of Cheryl Rinko Tearne. Born in Bridgeport on January 31, 1940 he was a son of the late Walter and Margaret Schaalman Tearne. For many years Bob worked as an electrician for the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation, after his retirement he went on to work for Sikorsky Federal Credit Union and was a long time bartender at Augustyn’s Blue Goose Restaurant. Mr. Tearne also served 5 years as an Electrical Specialist with the National Guard. Bob enjoyed his weekend boating trips with his family and friends at the Miamogue Yacht Club in Bridgeport. He is survived by his three loving children; Chris Tearne of Stratford, Chad Tearne and his wife Melissa of MA and Heather Tearne of Stratford. He is also survived by his brother Walter C. Tearne Jr. and his wife Dolores of Tuson, AZ and two grandchildren Jaeden and Justice Tearne both of MA. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 2 to 5:30 pm at the Dennis & D’Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford. All other services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Vitas Hospice Care, 99 Hawley Lane, Suite 1204, Stratford, CT 06614.
