Colborne Helen E. Colborne, age 95 of Stratford died peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Arden House of Hamden. She was the widow of Arthur S. Colborne. Born in Stratford on November 25, 1916 she was a daughter of the late William and Ethel Johnson Blamey. Mrs. Colborne was a secretary Stratford Board of Education for many years until her retirement. She was an active parishioner of the Stratford United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sons A. Ross Colborne and his wife Laurie of North Haven and Gary Colborne and his wife Susan of Stoney Point, NC and her sister Ruth Doyle of Stratford. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband she was predeceased by her brother William Blamey and sisters; Doris Perry and Charlotte Harrigan. A service in her memory will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11:00 O’Clock at the Stratford United Methodist Church, 2600 Main Street, Stratford with Pastor Lee officiating. Inurnment will be held privately at the Land’s End Cemetery, Brookfield at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Stratford United Methodist Church, 2600 Main Street, Stratford, 06615.
