John Krzyzek

John C. Krzyzek, Jr., 63, a.k.a. John Krebs, of Stratford, died this week after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Loving husband of 37 years to Tish McLean Krzyzek and father to Jaclyn Krzyzek and Janell Krzyzek Lovig. John was born to John and Mary Krzyzek and grew up in Fairfield. After graduating from Bullard Havens High School, John was drafted into the Army and served his country as a Sargent in the Vietnam War. He was an electrician and member of the IBEW Local 488 for over 20 years. A loving man devoted to his family, John truly loved the great outdoors, fishing with his lifelong friend John Majores, and gardening, growing tomatoes and giant pumpkins. Survivors include his spouse and best friend Tish, his mother Mary Olszowy Krzyzek of Federal Way, WA, daughter Jaclyn Krzyzek and grandsons Azariah and Amani Schless-Krzyzek of Olympia, WA, daughter Janell Krzyzek Lovig and son-in-law Andrew Lovig of Monroe, his sister Barbara Krzyzek of Milton, WA, brother Edward Krzyzek of Branford, brother Peter and sister-in-law Judy Krzyzek of West Hartford, sister-in-law Maureen and brother-in-law Richard Kendrick of Stratford and sister-in-law Dorothy McLean of Stratford, all of whom helped with his care, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his father, John C. Krzyzek, Sr. A celebration of John’s life will be held at The First Congregational Church, 2301 Main Street, Stratford on Sunday, April 29 at 1:00 p.m. Greeting the family will take place after the service in the church. All are welcome. Anyone wanting to participate with an anecdote about how John touched his or her life is welcome to do so. In lieu of flowers, John would like you to take a moment to go to your favorite outdoor place, breathe some fresh air, and enjoy yourself.
